I always want to stand up and say, Sparticus style, “I am John Gault!”

  2. Christine says:

Love this. During GI classes in vet school we learned about GALT, my favorite lymphoid tissue. Had to hold myself back so many times from leaping up during lectures stating ‘Who is John GALT’.

Has anyone actually read ‘Atlas Shrugged’? It’s an awesome book. Ayn was a genius. Everything that she writes about is currently happening. The government is taking everything over ‘for the common good’ and just doesn’t understand why the economy is failing. Gee…apparently Mr. Hussein Obama hasn’t read Ayn’s book…or maybe he has…

  4. Ed. says:

Jim! It’s worse than you think. The Government has already taken over the streets and the sidewalks! Look outside your window. They own the street and decide who can drive on it. They control the Police, Jim, the Police! And they control the Fire Departments. This is Socialized fire protection. The Government controls the Courts, Jim, the Courts! And the Congress! And the Presidency itself. The White House belongs to the Government, Jim. And it’s worse. The Government is armed! It has its own Army. Jim! Get out! Before it’s too late!

  6. Seth says:

There are only three things that the government should do:

Protect it’s citizens, hence the army.

Provide things that cannot be provided by each citizen, such as the roads, police, fire department.

Lastly is an impartial arbiter between two parties, the judicial system.

I swear by my life, and my love of it, that I will never live for another man, nor ask another to live for mine.

  7. Ed. says:

I’ll take that as an oath never to eat government inspected meat and to forget everything you learned in public school.

  8. seth says:

I pay taxes to support the public school system, in essence I paid for my education. I also pay taxes for the regulatory systems of the governmet such as the FDA, so that my quality of life is upheld. I do not pay taxes to have the government give that money to someone who hasn’t earned it. These government programs you mentioned, FDA, public schools, are things that the government should provide, because they cannot be provided by each and every person.
