At the Somerville town hall this week there was a small but loud contingent of those LaRouche folk (aka the Hitler-moustache-on-Obama people).

I hope we get a national health care plan that includes excellent mental health coverage.

As a cartoonist I can appreciate the thought that went into that cartoon, Michael. You gots the think down pat! And there's no mistaking your 'ink'. The slogans are the essence of the nasty extreme language that has been surfacing at these faux rage staged for tv actions at the town hall meetings. The whole schtick is so orchestrated that it shows, but so far no one is pointing out how orchestrated it really is.

My one suggestion that would make your piece tell that tale is if you put those little cartoony from the 1930's wind-up keys in all those little people's backs, or better yet put remote controls in the hands of their handlers and little radio antennaes out the top of their heads.

That 's the real point. They're shallow thinking shills for some big actors.

You got that part right. Show the manipulation and it's a wrap, dude!

Australia has "Medicare"-- FREE treatment for all (it's taken out of taxes) Those who can afford medical insurance pay and pay again, but they get a little back.
Its a good system, but long waiting lists.

I drew a cartoon too. It's not here. I haven't offered it up to my local newspaper because it is kind of raw. That is how I feel about this whole issue.

Raw.

This issue goes beyond cartoon politicks. And it's not a pretty sight.

So we have a generation of people who were raised on hours of TV as their baby sitter, fast food as their nutrition and computer games for entertainment - communication is largely through e-mail and texting - what do you expect! Thinking is no longer required or encouraged. Could this be devolution (or deviloution)?
